Reducing Power Factor Cost
Low power factor is expensive and inefficient. Many utility companies charge you an additional fee if your power factor is less than 0.95. Low power factor also reduces your electrical system’s distribution capacity by increasing current flow and causing voltage drops. This fact sheet describes power factor and explains how you can improve your power factor to reduce electric bills and enhance your electrical system’s capacity.

How Many Do I Need?
Usually a home needs 1 unit. The Utility Buster works up to 200 amps. If you are unsure, check your panel box. If your main breaker is 200 amps or less, you will need only 1 unit.
For homes that have multiple air conditioners and that are 3000 square feet and up, we recommend the UB1400. The larger capacitors help the additional A/C motors to run more efficiently and add life to them as well and will result in a greater overall savings.
